I stand here in the early mornings looking out of the window, watching my “babies” get in the car and drive off to school. It’s always a bittersweet moment. I am proud of my son for learning to drive, but I am also a wee bit sad.
Last week while looking through old photos, I was flooded with memories of babies in bathtubs, napping, playing happily, learning to walk, going to preschool, graduating from kindergarten, exciting Christmas mornings, etc., etc. Great photos and great days, those were. Full of fun, adventure and almost daily growth. And now one of my “babies” is driving…and the other rides horses.
Where did the time go? (I want to scream this.)
Life is all about change though, isn’t it? Nothing stays the same, nor would we really want it to.
Enjoy the new way things are, think fondly of the past, and remember: The only thing you can count on in life is change.
